HOW IT HAPPENED
The Blue and Gold scored early and often, finding the back of the cage four straight times in the opening five minutes before the Aggies found the board. Seven more goals in the period were capped off by a
Zach Politarhos score to give the Pride an 11-2 advantage after one.
Ball got his third goal of the day at the start of the second to put Widener up by double-digits. DiCicco scored two more in the period to become the second player to achieve a hat trick in the first half. DelVal found rope in the period's final minutes, but the six Pride scores in the quarter allowed it to enter halftime with a commanding 17-4 advantage.
The third period was much of the same as Widener extended its lead by as many as 15.
Connor Heisman netted his third to become the final Pride player to get three piece on the day. The Aggies opened up a late scoring surge in the final period, getting six in a row past the Blue and Gold, but it was too little too late as Widener closed out the game on its way to its fifth victory of the season.
