HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride jumped off to a hot start, hitting four unanswered buckets to take an 11-0 lead after the first five minutes. Widener shot 65.4 percent from the field in the first half as it maintained that lead and entered halftime up 42-33.
The Aggies opened the second act the same way Widener opened the first, knocking down four straight baskets to tie things back up at 44. The Pride's hot shooting cooled off while both sides grappled for the lead down to the final minutes. A three-pointer by
Pat Holden with 1:38 to play cut Delaware Valley's lead to two, but a Widener miss on the last possession allowed the Aggies to ice the game on free throws as it cemented the final tally.
