DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - The Widener football team took on No. 7/No. 10 Delaware Valley in the annual battle for the Keystone Cup on Saturday, but it could not come away with the Cup after it dropped a 27-0 contest to the Aggies on the road.
With the loss, the Pride ended the regular season with a 7-3 overall record and a 5-3 record in MAC play. Though they did not capture the Keystone Cup for the first time since Nov. 15, 2014, when they posted a 44-28 victory, the Pride still lead the overall series against DelVal, boasting a 28-15 record.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Kevin Davis stood out for the Pride on defense in the defeat, making 12 tackles and three tackles for loss.
- Anthony Jordan made an interception with 24 seconds left in the second quarter on a third-and-20 play for DelVal.
- Dan Dutkiewicz paced the Pride on offense, rushing for 40 yards on nine carries.
