Maddie Medve made 15 saves, but the Widener University women's lacrosse team fell in its season opener, 13-3 to the Dickinson Red Devils on Wednesday night.

- Medve's save total was the third highest of her career.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Widener got off to a good start as Cohen tallied her first career goal less than five minutes into the contest. Dickinson responded netting two in short succession. With the score still 2-1 and 16 minutes remaining in the first half, the Red Devils found the back of the cage seven times leading up to the break.

The Pride kept things close in the second half as Bretz and Bert scored two of the first three goals in the frame before the Dickinson pulled away.
