CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's lacrosse team scored the first five goals of the game and never looked back as the Pride won its home opener, 14-7 against Elizabethtown on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride got on the board first at the 25:35 mark on Bretz' first tally of the day. 22 seconds later Colella made it 2-0. Methodically, Widener extended its lead to 5-0 at the 9:43 mark. After a pair of Elizabethtown markers, Colella and DiGilio scored before halftime to make it 7-2.
A relatively even second half ensued with Widener holding a +2 advantage in the frame. After the Blue Jays scored first, Widener ripped off three in a row to salt the contest away.

Widener returns to action on Saturday, February 29 when it makes to Swarthmore to take on the Garnet. Opening draw is scheduled for noon.
