CHESTER, Pa. – Playing a team that beat them 73-62 at home last season, the Pride dominated the first half of play against the MAC Commonwealth rival Messiah Falcons. After a second half effort by the opposing teams, they held on late to a tight game to snap a two-game skid and improve to 4-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After both teams spent the first four minutes trading baskets, the Pride went on a 10-0 run to go up 16-9 midway through the first half. The Falcons clawed back to pull within one with 7:11 left in the first, but the Blue and Gold ripped open a 28-13 scoring run led by Peters' 11 first half points to enter halftime with what appeared to be a commanding 46-28 lead.
The Pride were able to maintain the lead for the better half of the second act, but a late push by Messiah allowed them to come within one point with 2:53 left. However, Widener was able to fend off the attack and snap a two-game losing streak with a 79-74 win over the Falcons.
