Hill's performance marked the first hat-trick for a Widener player since September 13, 2017.
Highlights
- The goals were Hill's 4th, 5th, and 6th of the season, making her the team and conference leader in scoring.
- Abby Fenton recorded the first goal of her junior campaign.
- Alyssa Dionisio got her second goal of the year.
- Bella Abrams was the last scorer for the Pride, finding the back of the net in the 85th minute off an assist from Kimmy Lyons. She also assisted on Hill's first goal.
How it happened
The match was even at zero for 24 minutes before Hill got WU on the board.
Melissa Koch sent a cross from the right side. Abrams was the first person to get a foot on it, tapping the ball over to Hill who buried it for the first goal of the game. Nearly six minutes later, Hill capitalized on a rebounded shot, quickly doubling the lead. WU went into the half up two.
Widener upped the pressure in the second, relentlessly attacking the Goucher defense. A WU corner kick in the 66th minute bounced around the box, eventually finding the feet of Fenton. She poked it in for goal number three.
Natalie Worth placed a beautiful ball to Dionisio who beat the keeper 1 v 1, widening the gap to four at the 66:55 mark. Hill got her third off an assist from
Emily Eisele. Lyons took a free kick from just inside midfield, placing the ball in the Goucher box where Abrams was able to get a head on it for the sixth and final goal of the match.
