CHESTER, Pa. – Claire Kaufmann posted her second straight match with double figures in kills, but the Widener University women's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-1 match to Swarthmore on Wednesday night.
 
MATCH NOTES (17-25, 27-25, 14-25, 17-25)

• Kaufmann committed just two errors and hit .333 for the match.
• Shelby Motz and Hollie Jones each had seven kills.
• Ashley McAfee recorded a career best 29 digs in the match.
• Sydney Nichols added 11 digs and led the Pride with 20 assists.
• The second set was the tightest of the match, needing extra points. Neither team held more than a three point edge until the Garnet opened a 22-17 lead. Widener battled back fiercely, scoring six in a row. Trailing 25-24, the WU tallied the final three points, winning on a kill by Motz.
