CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University softball team battled Albright College in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Lions 5-0 in game one, and then dropping game two against the conference rival 8-7 in 11 innings.

How it happened in game one
- The Pride jumped on the board in the bottom of the first after Silva smacked two-run homer.
- Lindsey Cooper led off the second with a double off the left field fence. DiMario bunted her over to third, then Mikaela Lovell bunted for a single and scored Cooper.
- Silva got her second RBI of the day in the third, bringing home Jamie Gosselin with a sacrifice fly to right field.
- Lovell knocked in the final run of the game for Widener in the fourth, singling to left field and scoring Cooper again.
- Jaworski shut the Lions down in order in the final three innings.

How it happened in game two
- Jaworski got the nod in the game two and pitched her eighth consecutive scoreless inning in the top of the first.
- Widener opened up a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
- Albright cut the deficit to one in the top half of the second, then tied it at four in the third.
- McDowell put Widener back on top with a two RBI single in the bottom of the third.
- A two-run Albright homer in the fourth knotted it at six.
- Neither team budged, staying even at six until the top of the 10th inning.
- If the score remains tied after nine innings in a conference game, each team is awarded a runner on second base at the start of the 10th inning.
- Albright took advantage of the rule, bringing home the runner on second base after a sacrifice bunt and an error.
- DiMario came up clutch for the Pride in the bottom of the 10th, singling to right and bringing home Marissa Camac.
- An Albright run in the top of the 11th cemented the final score.
