READING, Pa. – Kelly Lynch became the first player in Widener women's lacrosse history to record 300 career points as the Pride closed the regular season with a 22-8 win against the Alvernia Golden Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• Lynch recorded nine points to lead the Blue and Gold on the strength of seven goals and two assists.
• Melanie Bert chipped in five points with three goals and two helpers.
• Caroline Kelley netted four goals.
• Olivia McDonald scored three times. Amber Bretz and Emma DiGilio each found rope twice. Kristi Rohrer added a goal of her own.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• After the Golden Wolves netted two of the first three tallies of the contest, Widener scored four in a row, the last two by Lynch, taking a 5-2 edge at the 21:21 mark.
• The Pride continued to extend the lead, putting in four more after an Alvernia goal and eventually took a 16-5 advantage into halftime.
• Four goals in a row to start the second half extended the lead to 20-5 before the teams traded scores to round out the contest.

 
UP NEXT
Widener makes its first appearance in the MAC Commonwealth Championship since 2013 when it travels to Albright on Monday, April 29. Game time has yet to be announced.
