CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University softball team went up against Arcadia in a crucial MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Wednesday night. The Pride dropped game one by a score of 3-0 then had a comeback effort in game two thwarted by the Knights, resulting in a 9-4 loss.

- Widener jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the first thanks to a squeeze bunt from Benozich, scoring McDowell.
- A three-run homerun by Arcadia in the third inning gave the Knights a 3-1 edge.
- Four more Knights' hitters crossed the plate in the fourth, providing Arcadia its largest lead of the day.
- Cooper's homerun in the fifth narrowed the gap to three runs.
- Two runs by Arcadia in the seventh generated an insurmountable margin for the Pride.
