Second Straight Complete Game from Jaworski Helps @WidenerSoftball Split with Immaculata

CHESTER, Pa. – Kait Jaworski tossed a five-hit gem in game one, leading the Widener University softball team to a 2-0 victory over Immaculata on Monday evening. The Pride fell to the Mighty Macs 11-0 in game two.

Highlights
  • Hope DiMario hit her first collegiate homerun in game one
  • Jaworski threw her second consecutive complete game shutout
  • Carli Benozich ended the day with four hits

How it happened in game one
  • Jaworski fanned two Immaculata hitters in the first
  • She added another K in the second
  • Kelly Dodgson singled in the bottom half the second
  • Two batters later, DiMario blasted a two-run shot, providing the only runs of the game for either team
  • Jaworksi struck out three more, giving up only three hits after the second, on her way to her eighth win of the year

How it happened in game two
  • Strong pitching from the Mighty Macs saw the Pride record only five hits
  • Malia Calciano had two hits, one of them a double
  • Benozich had to singles

Up next
Widener stays home, hosting Eastern on Tuesday April 2 for its annual Strike Out Cancer Game. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
