VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Multiple players reached milestones as the Widener University women's lacrosse team ended its spring break trip to Virginia on a high note, downing the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins 16-10 on Saturday afternoon.

- Megan Racioppi posted a career-high six caused turnovers, giving her 52 career CT, making her the 12th player who has recorded 50 or more caused turnovers for the Blue and Gold. She also posted an assist in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Widener took the lead right from the opening draw, scoring four of the first five goals of the game, taking a 4-1 lead at the 18:14 mark of the first half.
- The Marlins battled back and chopped the edge to 5-4 before tallies by DiGilio, Lynch, and Rohrer, the last one coming with 27 seconds left in the frame pushed the Blue and Gold to an 8-5 lead at the half.
- After VWU pulled to 9-7, Bretz stepped up, winning her own draw control before taking the ball right into the offensive zone and scoring all on the same play, wresting the momentum from the Marlins. The goal ignited a three-tally spurt for Widener, extending the edge to 12-7.
- Virginia Wesleyan battled back, scoring two in a row, but the Pride shut the door as goals from Bert, two from Lynch, and Horchak methodically pulled Widener away to stay.
- The defense of WU also stepped up as the Pride did not allow the Marlins to score from the 23:08 mark until there were just 40 seconds left in the game.
