KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Widener University softball team went one-and-one on Tuesday, defeating Concordia-Moorhead College in a game one slugfest 17-10, then narrowly losing to Desales University 4-2 in game two.

- Carli Benozich finished the day with three hits, two of them doubles, and three RBI.
- Malia Calciano recorded four hits and three RBI.
- Jamie Gosselin had four hits, four stolen bases, four runs scored, and three RBI throughout both contests.
- Sydney Powell picked up her first win of the season.
How it happened vs Concordia-Moorhead
- After giving up one run in the top of the first, Widener responded with a nine-piece in the bottom of the inning. Benozich doubled twice in the inning, scoring Ally McDowell on both at bats.
- Concordia-Moorhead nearly matched the Pride's offense in the top of the second, putting up seven runs and making it 9-8 in favor of Widener.
- WU added five more in the bottom of the third. A Marissa Camac two-run homer gave Widener 14.
- Three runs - one in the fifth and two in the sixth - were more than enough for Widener.
- Powell settled into a nice groove, holding the Cobbers scoreless until the sixth inning.
- Isabella Kostic closed it out, tossing a one-hit, scoreless seventh.
How it happened vs Desales
- The bulldogs grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- In the top of the third inning, Jamie Gosselin slapped a single with one out. She scored on a Benozich double to even the game. Benozich reached home from second on a Calciano single, giving the Pride a 2-1 advantage.
- Two runs in the fourth and one run by Desales in the sixth made it 4-2 and Widener could not overcome the deficit.
