ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Eight different players scored for the Widener University women's lacrosse team as the Pride toppled the Eastern Eagles 20-6 in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• Amber Bretz led the Blue and Gold with five goals and added two assists, winning five draw controls and scooped four ground balls.
• Emma DiGilio had four goals.
• Kristi Rohrer and Olivia McDonald each tallied three times with Rohrer winning three draws.
• Melanie Bert scored twice. Kelly Lynch, Caroline Kelley, and Kaylee Horchak each found the back of the net once.
• Lynch had an assist in the game, the 100th of her career.
• Alexis Collela had two assists with Meg Steffney contributing one helper.
• Maddie Medve stopped six Eagles' shots.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Widener jumped on the board early, scoring the first seven goals of the contest in just eight minutes.
• The onslaught continued as after Eastern scored, the Pride netted seven of the next eight, going up 14-2 before taking an 11 goal lead into halftime.
• The Eagles battled back, scoring three of the first four second half markers before WU netted the final five of the contest.
