Lynch Nets Seven as @WidenerWLAX Dealt Close Setback at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Widener University women's lacrosse team twice rallied in second half, falling just short as the Pride dropped a close 15-13 decision to the Stockton Osprey on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Pride and Osprey traded goals early on as markers by Bert, Bretz, and Lynch helped to forge a 3-3 tie through the first 20 minutes.
  • Stockton scored three straight to go up 6-3 before Lynch found the back of the net again with 28 seconds before halftime to cut the gap to a pair at the break.
  • Early in the second half, Widener rallied to tie the game as two from Lynch and a goal from Kelley knotted the score at 7-7 with 22:51 to play.
  • The Osprey pulled away, scoring the next six goals in a span of 5:49 to open a 13-7 edge.
  • WU did not back down, posting three in a row and six of the final eight goals of the contest, eventually getting to 15-13 with 2:20 remaining.
 
UP NEXT
The Pride closes non-conference play with a trip to Eastern on Saturday, March 23. Opening draw from Olson Field is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
