HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Trailing 1-0 into the top of the fourth, Widener rallied with two outs as Morrissette walked in front of a Nathan Valenta double. Wood followed with his own double, scoring both runners, putting the Pride up 2-1. Elfreth followed with an infield single to put men on the corners before Elfreth got caught in a rundown, allowing Wood to come across the plate, making it 3-1.
  • After the Knights scored a run in the fourth, the Blue and Gold added to its lead. With one out, Samson tripled. Two batter later, DeBellis cracked his fourth homer of the season, a shot that landed on the roof of the dugout on the next field over, pushing the edge to 5-2.
  • On top 5-3 heading to the sixth, Widener broke the game open, sending 10 batters the plate, scoring six times on six hits and a walk. Key in the inning were a two-run double by Elfreth, RBI singles from Brennan Taylor and Reis, and an RBI two-bagger from D'Alessandro.
  • The Pride held Neumann off the board in the final four innings as Joey Norton, Alex Zilli, and Joey Zettlemoyer each authored at least one scoreless frame.
