HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride and Quakers traded the first four baskets of the game in the opening three minutes before Penn got hot from beyond the arc. A 3:34 stretch that saw the Quakers connect of 5-of-7 shots from three-point range allowed the home team to build a 25-8 lead. Widener played evenly during the next six minutes, keeping the game at arm's length before a late spurt by the home team pushed the score to 50-23 at halftime.
Both teams came out of the locker room hot as the Pride made five of its first eight shots in the second half while Penn countered making 4-of-6. Midway through the frame, the Quakers began to pull away, helping to create the final score.

Widener is now off until January 4, 2020 when the Pride hosts perennial national power Christopher Newport in a non-conference contest. Tipoff from the Schwartz Center is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
