James Gillespie of the Widener University football team has been named D3football.com First Team All-East Region as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.Â

Gillespie finished the regular season leading the NCAA in receiving yards with 1,326, hauling in 75 catches. He led the MAC and was tied for fourth in the nation with 17 touchdown catches. His seven games with 100 or more yards are tied for the most in a single season in Widener history and his yardage and touchdown totals are both second all-time in a year among Pride receivers. He was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week twice for his performances against Rowan and Alvernia.
Previously, the senior was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year.Â
Widener finished the season 5-5 overall and improved on last year's win total.
