  • Widener won nine corner kicks.
How it happened
WU fired off three shots before it was awarded a penalty kick in the 14th minute. Saba played a ball into the Gothic Knights' zone, finding the head of Devon Santos. Santos flicked it on to Nick Brison who battled for possession, eventually drawing a foul in the NJCU box, leading to the PK. Saba buried the ball into the lower left corner, making him a perfect 5-5 in penalty kick situations on the year. NJCU knotted the game in the 33rd minute and the teams went into the break even at one.

The Pride defense limited the Gothic Knights to one shot before the offense added another. The Blue and Gold earned a free kick from the right side the 18 about 15 yard out. Adam Bailey lined up over the ball and curled one in, reaching the head of Josh Witte. His shot was saved initially but Thomas cleaned up the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net with his head, making it 2-1 at the 68:29 mark.

NJCU had a chance to even the score in the 75th minute after it was awarded a PK. Warwick leaped to his left, stopping the shot with his foot and preserving the victory.
