How it happened
Widener fired off four shots in the first eight minutes before getting on the board. A penalty corner from
Gianna Perna found the stick of Daniels who willed the ball into the back of the cage. The WU offense continued to attack in the second quarter. Walker capitalized on a rebounded save, beating the Gopher keeper high and doubling the margin before halftime.
After the intermission, defensive adjustments forced scoreless third quarter. Another penalty corner from Perna led to the final goal for Widener. Eberly received the corner then placed the ball where Daniels could get a stick on it. Daniels did not disappoint, burying the deflection and sealing the win.
