Claire Kaufmann posted a career-high 19 kills, but the Widener University women's volleyball team dropped a tough five set match on Friday night, falling to Washington & Lee 25-16, 22-25, 25-19, 20-25, 11-15.

BY THE NUMBERS
- In addition to her career high kill total, Kaufmann posted five blocks and hit .441.
- Nicole Dorman had her second double-double of the season with 10 kills and 15 digs.
- Sydney Nichols also posted a double-double with 19 assists and 10 digs.
- Shelby Motz tied for the team lead with 15 digs. Emma Wilcock had 25 assists.
- Widener had one of its best hitting sets of the season in the opener, attacking at a .378 clip, posting 14 kills and no errors in 37 swings.
