Boxscore 2 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Widener University women's volleyball team concluded play at the Virginia Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, sweeping both of their matches. The Pride downed Alverno 25-17, 25-15, 25-21 before topping Geneva, 25-14, 25-16, 25-16.
NOTES VS. ALVERNO
- Claire Kaufmann had a strong overall match, delivering seven kills while recording a .416 hitting percentage. She also posted four blocks.
- Nicole Dorman led the Pride with nine kills and hit .350. The senior added five aces and five digs.
- Ashley McAfee led the Blue and Gold with 10 digs. Emma Wilcock had 11 assists.
- As a team, Widener hit .313 for the match with 29 kills and only nine errors in 64 swings.
NOTES VS. GENEVA
- Dorman once again led the Pride with eight kills. Kaufmann had six and Shelby Motz posted five. Motz also led WU with three aces and matched McAfee for the team high with 10 digs.
- Liz Kwon topped Widener with seven assists. Wilcock and Maddie Keller each recorded six.
- Carly Venit and Kelsey Lee each had three blocks.
- Widener once again hit well as a team, connecting at a .246 clip in the final two sets.
