CHESTER, Pa. –
Dylan Peiffer pitched a complete game shutout in the second game of a doubleheader as the Widener University baseball team split a doubleheader with the Albright Lions, winning game two 5-0 after dropping the opener 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the game Widener honored its 2018 senior class with a ceremony celebrating its accomplishments the past four seasons.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONE (Albright 4, Widener 1)
- After Albright scored a run in the top of the third, Widener went to work in the bottom of the inning. Morrissette led off with a double and was sacrificed to third by Kyle Buchman, on a 1-1 count, Taylor laid down a perfect squeeze bunt, scoring Morrissette to tie the game.
- The Lions took the lead on an unearned run in the sixth. The Pride put a runner on third followed a double by Glenn Seymour and a wild pitch in the bottom of the inning, but could not push the equalizer across.
- Albright plated two more in the seventh to take a 4-1 lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME TWO (Widener 5, Albright 0)
- Widener jumped on the board right away as a double and a single put runners on second and third leading off the inning. Sac flies by D'Alessandro and Seymour plated Elfreth and Garofolo to make it 2-0 Pride.
- In the third, Taylor and Elfreth singled to open the inning and were moved up on a sac bunt by Garofolo. D'Alessandro stood in next and ripped a single to left, scoring both runners for a 4-0 lead for the Blue and Gold.
- Morrissette made it 5-0 in the fourth when he clubbed his first homer of the season.
