SWARTHMORE, Pa. –
Kelly Lynch and
Melanie Bert each scored a pair of goals, but the Widener University women's lacrosse team fell 18-5 to Swarthmore on Tuesday night.
BY THE NUMBERS
- In addition to the goals from Lynch and Bert, Caroline Kelley also scored for the Pride.
- Lynch added two assists to total four points in the game.
- Margot Coates had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore scored the first goal of the game just 20 seconds into the contest. Widener tied it five minutes later as Bert found the back of the net off a feed from Lynch.
- The Pride held the game close as Kelley scored to make pull to 3-2 at the 11:27 mark of the first half.
- The Garnet took control from that point, netting seven unanswered tallies to end the half.
- Widener tried to rally late, playing a level final 15 minutes of the contest.
