BETHLEHEM, Pa. –
Melanie Bert recorded her second straight six-point game, but the Widener University women's lacrosse team was upended 20-9 by the Moravian Greyhounds on Saturday afternoon.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Bert recorded her six points on the strength of four goals and two assists, giving her nine goals for the week. She also won two draw controls.
- Emma DiGilio found the back of the net twice with Kelly Lynch, Kalee Horchak, and Caroline Kelley each hitting the back of the net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Moravian scored twice in the first five minutes of the game before Bert got the Pride on the board at the 24:31 mark of the first period.
- The Greyhounds ripped off four goals in a row to take to go up 6-1. Widener responded as goals by DiGilio and Kelley cut the lead in half.
- Moravian rallied, using a 12-2 run to effectively put the game away midway through the second half.

Widener takes to the field again on Friday, March 23 when it hosts Shenandoah. Opening draw from Dixon Field is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
