Stephen DeBellis hit a walk-off double and
Josh Lafferty fanned a career-high 10 batters in the opener as the Widener University baseball team swept the Immaculata University Mighty Macs on Saturday afternoon at the Maple Zone Sports Institutes Facilities. The Pride won the first game 4-3 and took the nightcap by a 3-2 score in 9 frames.
GAME 1
HIGHLIGHTS
- Glenn Seymour went 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI, and a run scored.
- DeBellis went 2-for-4 with and drove in a run
- Brennan Taylor went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nick D'Alessandro advanced on an error by the catcher after DeBellis singled to center field in the first inning.
- The Pride doubled its lead when Taylor hit a SAC fly in the second to bring Seymour home.
- Seymour then hit an RBI single through center field to drive in Dylan Peiffer to put Widener up 3-0 in the fourth.
- After two scoreless innings, Immaculata tied the game at 3s with a two-run homer and a run after a groundout.
- With two outs and two on base, DeBellis belted a double through right field to drive in Taylor for the 4-3 walk-off victory.

HIGHLIGHTS
- DeBellis went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
- D'Alessandro went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
- Alex Zilli picked up his first collegiate win and struck out one in one inning.
- Joey Zettlemoyer was credited with the save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- DeBellis put the Pride ahead early in the first with a triple to left field to plate D'Alessandro.
- Immaculata tied the game in the second with an RBI triple before a groundout pushed a second run across to put the Mighty Macs ahead 2-1.
- Widener then knotted the game at 2s after Mike Mollenhaur doubled to left field to drive in D'Alessandro and push the game into extra innings.
- Dylan Morrisette provided the heroics in the ninth as he hit a SAC fly to center field to plate Mollenhauer and give Widener the victory.

The Pride returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2:00 p.m. as they travel to Winchester, Va. for a non-conference game against the Shenandoah University Hornets.
