SHENANDOAH, Va. - The Widener University baseball team fell 8-4 to the Shenandoah Hornets on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shenandoah wasted no time and took the lead in the first frame with an RBI double followed by an RBI single. Both were hit through right field.
- The Hornets then doubled their lead to 4-0 in the third after a single and a SAC fly drove in runs.
- Widener did not falter, though, as Morrissette singled through the left side to plate Seymour and Garofalo belted a homer out of right field to make the game 4-2 in the fourth inning.
- Stephen DeBellis then cut the deficit down to one for the Pride in the sixth when he scored on a throwing error by center field.
- Both teams tacked on another run in the sixth and seventh frames keeping the game at a tight score. Garofalo grounded out pushing DeBellis home to close the gap before the Hornets took back the lead in the seventh with a SAC bunt.
- Morrissette flied out to right field to drive in DeBellis for a fourth run before the Hornets finished off the Pride with a three-run bottom of the eighth.
