@WidenerWlax Uses Offensive Barrage to Down Neumann in Season Opener

CHESTER, Pa. Kelly Lynch tied her own school record for assists in a game as the Widener University women's lacrosse team opened the season with a 19-8 win against the Neumann Knights on Wednesday night.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Lynch recorded six helpers in the contest, matching the total she had at Eastern on Mar. 25, 2017. The total tied the school record that she jointly holds with Rachel Porter (Apr. 14, 2012 vs. Lycoming) and Meghan Garvey (Apr. 2, 2016 at Hood). She also scored five times in the game, three on free position shots. Her 11 total points were one shy of the school best, which was most recently matched in 2009.

  • Widener held a 19-10 advantage in draw controls in the contest, seven from Lexi Colella and six from Kristi Rohrer.
  • Kaylee Horchak and Megan Racioppi led the Blue and Gold with four ground balls each.
