CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's volleyball team gave Stevenson all it could handle before falling to the Mustangs 3-1 on Tuesday night by scores of 25-21, 14-25, 23-25, 22-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening set, Widener broke open a tight contest with a 7-1 run to take an 18-13 lead. The Mustangs pulled to within 21-20 before the Pride ripped off four of the final five points in the frame.
- After Stevenson handled the second set easily, the two teams battled tough again in the third. Widener jumped out to an early 10-4 lead prior to the Mustangs tying it at 10-10. From there the squads traded points for the middle portion of the stanza. After SU opened a 24-21 lead, the Pride fought off two set points before a service error closed the set.
- Widener played from behind for much of the fourth set and was down 23-17 before scoring four straight to close the gap. The Mustangs recovered, however, winning two of the final three points.

Widener is back on the court on Saturday when it hosts Neumann for homecoming and Dig Pink. Opening serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
