CHESTER, Pa. –
Chris Randle posted his second triple-digit rushing day of the season, but the Widener University football team was upended 20-6 by the Stevenson Mustangs on homecoming in front of more than 5,000 fans on Hirschmann Field at Quick Stadium on Saturday.
Â
Widener got the first three points of the game, capping a 12-play. 56-yard drive that took nearly six minutes off the clock with a 34-yard field goal by
Larry Eimer. In the second quarter, Stevenson scored its first points on an eight yard run that came two plays after an interception. The extra point was no good and the Mustangs held a 6-3 lead until the late stages of the half when Eimer connected again, this time from 43 yards out to knot the score heading into halftime.
Â
Neither team scored in the third quarter. In the final 15 minutes, the Mustangs scored on a TD pass early and a fumble recovery late to post the final margin.
