CHESTER, Pa. –
Dylan Pratzner tallied two goals in the second half, however, the Widener University men's soccer team were dealt a 4-2 loss against the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen on Saturday evening at Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium.
Lebanon Valley got on the board first, but the Pride went right back at the opposition with a shot from
John Colbert less than two minutes later. Despite the Pride's strong defense and consistent pressure, the Dutchmen were able to find the back of the net one more time to close out the half with the 2-0 lead.
After the Dutchmen opened the scoring in the second half, Pratzner netted two back-to-back goals less than three minutes apart to cut the deficit down to one. Pratzner's first tally was a hard-driven volley off of a rebounded shot from
Adam Bailey. He then received a pass across the box from
Mac Schailey and fired the ball into the back of the net before the Dutchmen answered with a fourth goal that finalized the game.
Widener is slated to return 28 letter winners and nine starters next season.
