FREDERICK, Md. (Oct. 29, 2016) – The Widener University men's soccer team fell to Hood by a 6-1 decision in its final match of the season on Saturday evening at Thomas Athletic Field.

Hood got on the board early with a goal coming from Clay Smith in the sixth minute of the first half and never looked back. The only goal for Widener was scored by Kevin McKenna (North Wales, Pa.) in the final minutes of the game.

Danny Castillo turned down six shots for Hood (11-5-1, MAC Commonwealth 4-3-1), while senior Dave Sousa (Springfield, Pa.) recorded nine saves for the Pride.

Widener (3-11-3, MAC Commonwealth 1-5-2) is slated to return 24 letterwinners and nine starters next season.
