WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Oct. 31, 2015) – The Widener men's soccer team dropped the regular season finale as they fell to Lycoming on Saturday, 2-0.
The Pride fall to 8-9-1, and 4-4 in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play, while the Warriors improved to 14-1-2, and 7-0-1 in league action.
Widener and Lycoming were scoreless until the 54th minute when Duc Mom scored. The Pride were outshot in the game 21-8. Keenthy Yeboah added a goal for the Warriors in the 72nd minute.
Senior
Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, N.J.) recorded three shots for Widener.
Zac Furia (Springfield, Pa.) added two shots, while
Kevin McKenna (North Wales, Pa.),
Dylan Pratzner (Wallingford, Pa.) and
Mac Schailey (State College, Pa.) each added a shot a piece.
Junior
David Sousa (Springfield, Pa.) recorded seven saves in the MAC Commonwealth match-up.
Widener, the No. 5 seed, will have a date with Arcadia, the No. 4 seed, on Monday in the first round of the MAC Commonwealth tournament. The Pride will travel to Glenside, Pa. for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off against the Knights. Lycoming secured the No. 1 seed, while Messiah and Lebanon Valley secured the No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
