Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Wins Second Straight With 2-0 Blanking of Immaculata

Sophomore Karli Luker (Mechanicsburg, PA) scored her first goal of the season and junior Nicole Foschini (Laurel Springs, NJ) added an insurance marker in the second half for Widener in a 2-0 victory over Immaculata at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

It took just over three minutes for the Pride to score the only goal they would need.  Freshman Brooke Palmieri (Erial, NJ) had her initial shot blocked and the ball came out to Luker, who lifted one just under the crossbar past goalkeeper Elizabeth McBride.

It was the high point of a half in which Widener owned a 14-2 shots edge, en route to outshooting Immaculata 21-5 for the match.

The teams were barely out of the huddle for the second half when the Pride iced the contest in the 49th minute.  Senior Jenna Pedrick (Sicklerville, NJ) lifted a corner kick, one of six in the match for Widener, from the left side that Foschini headed into the back of the net for her third career goal.

Senior Jaclyn Miller (Media, PA) had six shots and Pedrick added four for the Pride (2-2).  Junior Olivia Pfautz (Ephrata, PA) made three saves.

Carly Mirarchi attempted three shots and McBride amassed five saves for the Mighty Macs (0-3).

Widener opens a three-game road trip Thursday at Rutgers-Camden, beginning at 7:00 pm.
