Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Handed 2-0 Loss at Bryn Mawr

Widener gave Bryn Mawr all it could handle, but surrendered a pair of second-half goals in a 2-0 road loss.

The Pride for the second straight match played their opponents to a 0-0 halftime stalemate after opening Saturday at Swarthmore.  The squad notched four shots, but could get none past goalkeeper Aviva Kosansky.

The Owls cracked the scoreboard in the 56th minute when Allegra Levy fired a cross to Veronica Roux, who headed it home for a 1-0 contest.

Widener's last best chance for the equalizer came from freshman Lauren Wilson (National Park, NJ), who had her attempt in the 83rd minute saved by Kosansky.

Bryn Mawr added an insurance marker with 58 seconds left as Madeline Mark launched a shot from 40 yards that found its way inside the top left corner.

Wilson and senior Jenna Pedrick (Sicklerville, NJ) each had two shots and junior Olivia Pfautz (Ephrata, PA) made four saves for the Pride (0-2).

Mark closed with two shots and Kosasnsky came up with four saves for the Owls (1-1).

Widener on Saturday plays its home opener against Washington (MD), starting at 1:00 pm.
