Volleyball Falls to Lycoming in First Round of Conference Tournament

Widener fought hard, but fell to Lycoming 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19) in the opening round of the Commonwealth Conference Tournament in Williamsport, Pa.
 
Brooke Ruditys (Upper Chichester, Pa) led the Pride with 14 kills and six errors on 39 total attacks, a .205 hitting percentage and seven digs. Ruditys finishes the season with 325 kills, bringing her career total to 652. 
 
Sophomore Sabrina Barbieri (Media, Pa) recorded a team-high 33 assists and 11 digs. Barbieri earned a .188 hitting percentage with five kills and two errors on 16 total attacks. The sophomore finished with 853 assists for the 2014 campaign, bringing her career total to 1,678. Barbieri now ranks fourth all-time on the school's career assists list.
 
The Pride fell to the Warriors (18-16, 5-3 CC) earlier in the season at Schwartz Center in three sets. In the last Commonwealth Conference Tournament appearance, Widener fell to Lycoming in five sets two years ago.
 
Kaitlin Schnalzer (Bethlehem, Pa) added a .250 hitting percentage for the Pride. The senior recorded 13 kills and five errors on 32 total attacks. Schnalzer finishes the season with 213 kills on the season and 976 for her career. She ranks seventh all-time on the career kills list.
 
Senior Victoria Miller (West Chester, Pa) recorded 10 kills in four sets. She finishes the season with 431 digs to bring her career total to 1,456. Miller finishes her career ranked fifth all-time in career digs.
 
The Pride (7-24, 4-4) finish the season with their seventh appearance in the Commonwealth Conference Tournament in eight years.
