Men's Basketball Defeats Muhlenberg in the Scotty Wood Tournament Final

Freshman Sardayah Sambo (Middletown, DE) scored 10 points to give Widener its third straight victory, 68-65 over Muhlenberg to claim the Scott Wood Tournament in Allentown, PA.

Sambo added one assist and five rebounds in the victory. He also shot 5-of-7 from the field.
 
Widener (4-1) shot 40 percent from the field and 72 percent from the free throw line. The Pride held the Mules to only 42 percent shooting from the field and 19 percent from 3-point range.
 
Senior Mark Pryzbylkowski (New Egypt, NJ) added 14 points, two assists and three rebounds for the Pride. The guard shot 2-of-6 from 3-point range and 4-for-6 from the charity line. Forward David Nicholson (Odentown, MD) recorded 12 points and one rebound for the Widener. The junior shot five for six from the free throw line.

Pryzbylkowski was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after closing with 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five 3-pointers over two games.  Jermaine Kamara was named to the all-tournament team after ending with 11 points and 17 rebounds over two contests.

Malique Killing scored 16 points, Alec Stavetski netted 14 and John Hunter added 11 for the Mules (3-1).
 
Widener will be back on the court on Saturday when it hosts Ursinus at Schwartz Center in non-conference play.
