Widener SAAC to Give Out Ice Cream Sandwiches During Friday's Field Hockey Game

Widener's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be handing out ice cream sandwiches at halftime of Friday's field hockey game vs. Cabrini to all students.

Game time is 7:00 pm. The Pride are 3-2 on the season and are one of five teams that sport a winning record in a very competitive Commonwealth Conference. Sophomore Meghan Garvey (Avondale, PA) leads the league with six goals and 14 points. She, senior Brittany Gunderson (Turnersville, NJ) and junior Mackenzie Lindquist (Ocean City, NJ) all are tied for third in the conference with two assists.

SAAC is beginning the initiative to help support and promote Widener Athletics. Widener's SAAC has made an invigorating effort toward working with community projects and building leadership through athletics and the University. The SAAC also plays an active role outside the University, participating in events with other schools in the Middle Atlantic Conference to offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives.
