Volleyball Once Again Splits Two Matches at the Knights Invitational

(vs. RU-Camden) / (vs. Marymount-VA)

Widener for the second straight day split two matches at the Knights Invitational, posting a 3-2 win (14-25, 25-22, 25-8, 23-25, 15-11) over Rutgers-Camden before a 3-0 loss (23-25, 24-26, 14-25) vs. Marymount (VA) in Aston, PA.

Against RU-Camden, junior Kaitlin Schnalzer (Bethlehem, PA) and freshman Brooke Ruditys (Upper Chichester, PA) had 12 kills apiece. Freshman Sabrina Barbieri (Glen Mills, PA) recorded 24 assists and junior Veronica Miller (West Chester, PA) totaled 19 digs.

Versus Marymount, Schnalzer again had 12 kills, Ruditys finished with nine, Barbieri closed with 27 assists, Miller had 16 digs and sophomore Ashley Ferrell (Reading, PA) added 11 for Widener (9-5), which has won nine of its last 12 matches.

Widener returns to Commonwealth Conference play Wednesday vs. Lebanon Valley, starting at 7:00 pm.
