Volleyball's Four-Match Winning Streak Halted by Lycoming in Straight Sets

Widener kept the match close but in the end lost in straight sets to Commonwealth Conference opponent Lycoming (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) in Williamsport, PA.

Widener (13-10, 2-4 CC) was led by junior Kaitlin Schnalzer (Bethlehem, PA) with six kills and only one error for a .294 hitting percentage. Schnalzer ranks second on the team with 194 kills.

On the other side, it was junior Jessica Dembeck (Philadelphia, PA) with eight kills and three assisted blocks.

Senior Veronica Vizzard (Havertown, PA) continued her prowess at middle hitter with four kills on zero errors and a team-leading three blocks. Vizzard leads the Commonwealth Conference with 71 blocks on the season.

Setter Sabrina Barbieri (Glen Mills, PA) recorded 21 assists to reach a season total of 581. Fellow freshman Brooke Ruditys (Upper Chichester, PA) led the team with 11 digs and offensively registering four kills.

Four different Pride players finished the day with an ace, one of whom, junior Victoria Miller (West Chester, PA) also added eight digs to increase her season total to 343 as the team's libero.

Widener returns to action Saturday in Center Valley, PA where it will face Penn State Berks at noon and then host DeSales at 2:00 pm.
