Volleyball Falls Twice at Tri-Match

(vs. Neumann) / (vs. Swarthmore)

Widener fought hard in its annual tri-match on Breast Cancer Awareness Day, but was handed losses by scores of 3-2 (25-16, 25-19, 18-25, 22-25, 11-15) to Neumann and 3-1 (15-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-25) to Swarthmore at Schwartz Center.

Against Neumann, senior Kaitlin Schnalzer (Bethlehem, PA) had 11 kills and 20 digs, Brooke Ruditys (Upper Chichester, PA) posted 14 and nine, fellow freshman Sabrina Barbieri (Glen Mills, PA) had 39 assists and junior Victoria Miller (West Chester, PA) notched 22 digs.

Ruditys again was solid against Swarthmore with 14 kills and 14 digs, Schnalzer posted 11 kills, Barbieri had 32 assists and Miller amassed 20 digs for the Pride (14-14).

Schnalzer now has 732 career kills and moves into the Pride's career top 10 list.

The Pride accecpted donations throughout the day that will benefit the Side-Out Foundation.

Widener hits the road Tuesday to visit Albright, starting at 7:00 pm.
