Widener's field hockey squad will be collecting money and personal hygiene products during its home game Saturday against Elizabethtown to benefit the Chester Community Charter School.
Game time at Edith R. Dixon Field is noon and it also is Homecoming Weekend.
Students often cannot afford personal hygiene products and therefore body odor and communicable diseases become an issue. The team has stepped up to help the school that has a tight budget and can not afford to purchase all of the necessary products.
Such products that are appreciated include hand sanitizers, soaps, shampoo, mouthwash, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorants and monetary donations. All money collected will be used to purchase travel-sized personal hygiene products.
