Women's Basketball Wins, 76-42, Over Lycoming

Junior Jennifer Egee (Ridley Park, PA) scored 20 points and hit five 3-pointers for Widener in a 76-42 Commonwealth Conference victory over Lycoming at Schwartz Center.
 
Egee scored nine points in the opening half on 3-of-6 shooting with two 3-pointers to help Widener grab a 39-23 lead.  Junior Joanna Persiano (Absecon, NJ) added eight points in the half for the Pride, who shot 37 percent (16-of-43) from the floor and limited the Warriors to only 29 percent (9-of-31).
 
Egee, who reached at least 20 points for the third time this season, canned 11 points in the second half to go with three 3-pointers.  The Pride (10-3, 5-1 CC) held the Warriors (2-10, 2-4) to only 19 points in the second half on 17 percent shooting (5-of-30).
 
Senior Kate Dellinger (Wrightsville, PA) amassed 15 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double this season with Egee and senior Francesca Lee (Hainesport, NJ) each getting eight rebounds apiece for the Pride, who held a 60-40 edge on the boards and totaled a season-best 17 steals.
 
Olivia Manges scored 11 points for the Warriors, who shot only 23 percent (14-of-61) from the field, 5-of-15 from the beyond the arc and committed 27 turnovers.
 
Widener is home Wednesday against Alvernia at 6:00 pm, which precedes the men's game that begins at 8:00 pm.
