Men's Basketball Notches 91-78 Win at Swarthmore

Senior Adam Ahern (West Grove, PA) scored a career-high 23 points and dominated the second half for Widener in a 91-78 victory at Swarthmore.
 
Widener took control in the first half thanks to an 11-2 run in just under three minutes for a 30-21 lead with 8:20 left.  Junior Bob Makor (Philadelphia, PA) scored five points in that span.
 
The Pride owned a 44-34 halftime lead as junior Andrew Radomicki (Media, PA) scored nine points and sophomore Greg Lawson (Mount Holly, NJ) added eight.  The visitors shot 65 percent (17-of-26) from the floor in the half and held the Garnet to only 36 percent (10-of-28).
 
The second half belonged to Ahern, who scored 19 points in the stanza on 7-of-9 shooting over 15 minutes.  This helped the Pride shoot 64 percent (16-of-25) for the period and 65 percent (33-of-51) in the contest.
 
Sophomore Dillon Fields (Medford, NJ) scored 14 points overall, freshman David Nicholson (Odenton, MD) netted 13 and Radomicki ended with 12 for the Pride (3-9).
 
Will Gates scored 22 points, Jay Kober netted 20, Joe Keedy poured in 14 and Karl Barkley added 12 for the Garnet (3-9).
 
Widener is home Saturday to face Lycoming at 3:00 pm.
