(boxscore)
Widener battled, but lost 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-16) to new league member Stevenson tonight at Schwartz Center in its first Commonwealth Conference match.

At the end of set number one, the Pride (1-5, 0-1 CC) found themselves down by one in the match, but it was in the second set when Stevenson was given a run for its money. With some outstanding defensive plays, Widener battled back and forth, point for point, with Stevenson until it fell just short and lost the second set 25-22.

Veronica Vizzard (Havertown, PA) finished with a .364 hitting percentage, going four-for-11, and Shauna Phillips (Dallas, PA) hit .357, going five-for-14.
