Volleyball’s Five-Match Winning Streak Ends with 3-1 Loss at Moravian

Widener ran into a very tough Moravian squad and saw its five-match winning streak snapped with a 3-1 loss (16-25, 25-16, 22-25, 16-25) in Bethlehem, PA.
 
The Pride (9-9) squared the match at 1-1 after forcing the Greyhounds into 10 second-set errors.  Widener lost a close third set despite 11 kills, but Moravian pounded 14 kills in the fourth set for the win.
 
Sophomore Kaitlin Schnalzer (Bethlehem, PA) had 10 kills in her hometown, junior Maggie Greenberg (Meadowbrook, PA) posted 27 assists and senior Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) totaled 19 digs for Widener.  Senior Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) amassed 12 digs and sophomore Victoria Miller (West Chester, PA) had 10.
 
Kelly Brown notched 39 assists and 15 digs, Lauren Hostetler totaled 15 kills and 11 digs with Jesse Krasley getting 29 digs for Moravian (11-2).

Widener resumes Commonwealth Conference play Wednesday at home against Elizabethtown, starting at 7:00 pm.
