Volleyball Goes 4-0 at Knights Invitational

(vs. PSU Berks) / (vs. Marymount) / (vs. Immaculata) / (vs. Bryn Mawr)

Widener swept four matches over the weekend and had four players make the all-tournament team at the Knights Invitational in Aston, PA.
 
Widener opened Friday with a 3-1 win (25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 25-17) over Penn State Berks and followed with a 3-1 victory (25-21, 20-25, 25-13, 25-23) over Marymount.  The squad on Saturday notched 3-0 sweeps over Immaculata (25-9, 25-16, 25-23) and Bryn Mawr (25-14, 25-22, 25-11).
 
Against PSU Berks, junior Maggie Greenberg (Meadowbrook, PA) had 38 assists and 12 digs with senior Angela DiMaria (Warrington, PA) getting 11 kills and 11 digs.  Sophomore Jessica Dembeck (Philadelphia, PA) had 13 kills, senior Shauna Phillips (Dallas, PA) and junior Veronica Vizzard (Havertown, PA) notched 10 apiece and senior Meghan Spence (Havertown, PA) added 20 digs.
 
Versus Marymount, Greenberg posted 35 assists and 11 digs, Spence had 27 digs and junior Stephanie Schutt (Tucson, AZ) added 15.  DiMaria and sophomore Kaitlin Schnalzer (Bethlehem, PA) each had 11 kills.
 
Against Immaculata, Greenberg posted 36 assists and 14 digs, Vizzard had 14 kills, Spence recorded 22 digs and sophomore Victoria Miller (West Chester, PA) amassed 11.
 
Versus Bryn Mawr, Greenberg recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 27 assists and 15 digs.  Spence had 17 digs and Phillips totaled eight kills.
 
Greenberg, Vizzard, Spence and Dembeck were named to the all-tournament team.
 
Widener on Wednesday visits Lebanon Valley for a 7:00 pm match in Annville, PA.
