Men’s Soccer Loses To Neumann, 2-0

(boxscore)
Widener battled against Neumann through the full 90 minutes, but could not come out on top of today's 2-0 decision at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

The score remained in striking distance for Widener (1-5), but none of its six shots found its way past Knights Keepers Alex Lacko and Tim Glaccum, who split the game.

DJ DiPaola (Havertown, PA) put up two shots to try to put the Pride on the scoreboard. Derek Brubaker (Lancaster, PA), Zac Furia (Morton, PA), Max Spencer (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ) and Ross Staudt (Marlton, NJ) each took one apiece. Pride defense was key in keeping the score within reach.

Widener had five corner kick attempts to Neumann's (3-2-1) one and had four fewer fouls.

Jakub Valdner (Bratislava, Slovakia) spent the full 90 minutes between the posts, making six saves and allowing just two goals on 13 Neumann shots.

Widener's next game is at home on Wednesday, September 19 against Rosemont, beginning at 7:00 pm.
