Junior Lamar Jackson (Philadelphia, PA) aided the decisive run as part of his game-high 21 points for Widener in a 78-62 Commonwealth Conference victory over Elizabethtown at Schwartz Center.

Jackson scored six points during a 9-0 run, turning a 10-point lead into an insurmountable 66-47 cushion with 8:07 remaining.  Senior Perry Wright (Severn, MD) had a three-point play in the spurt and Jackson ended it on a layup.

The contest also featured senior Jack Brennan (Stratford, NJ) becoming the 26th player in Widener history to reach 1,000 career points.  The milestone came with 13:35 to play on a layup thanks to a great feed from junior Rob McPherson (Bowie, MD).

Wright scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half, shooting 7-of-13 overall, and added six steals.  Senior Brian Smith (Baltimore, MD) poured in 17 points with Brennan getting 10 and nine rebounds for the Pride (14-6, 5-4 CC), who have won three straight.

Jackson shot 9-of-14 from the floor for Widener, which hit 47 percent (28-of-60) overall and nailed eight 3-pointers.

The Pride on Saturday host Messiah at 3:00 pm, following the women's 1:00 pm contest between the schools.
